Okay, wow, this sweet baby is already over three weeks old, which gives you an idea of how far behind I’m running right now. I spent much of my day returning emails (and I still haven’t returned all of them!!) and attempting to get as much editing done as possible. You know in between drop offs and pick ups and gymnastics classes and pediatrician appointments.
) All in a day’s work!
I must start off by saying that my greatest honor as a photographer is getting to be there to capture a new little miracle entering the world. I don’t think it’s possible for me to be there and not bawl my eyes out. It truly is a miracle. I tear up now even thinking about it. I can’t help but praise God for the glory of His creation. For miracles.
I mentioned in her mini post that I would elaborate on the “almost being there” story, so here it is… I got a call from Kirsten telling me they were on their way to the hospital and that she was “pretty sure” that they would keep her. I asked if I should come right then, and she suggested that they call me once she was assessed. Fine, good. Maybe 10/15 minutes later Nick called to say I should come. They weren’t in a room yet, but I should probably come. So I immediately got in my car drove the 10 minutes to the hospital, and arrived to find baby already lying on the baby warmer!!! I couldn’t believe it. I mean I had a fast third labor, but this was crazy! I mean they were out for dinner with friends until 7:30, and baby was born by 8:30! Crazy.
Okay, enough talk, here are the pictures:

I just love the way she’s looking up at mommy. A couple with daddy (and the nurse putting the hat on is the nurse who delivered Indie, the doctor didn’t make it in time either):

I put the next baby scale picture up here for another little story
) It shows Indie’s weigh in, but her discharge weight was way higher, which is apparently impossible, so they figure the scale must have been wrong. I haven’t heard of that before, but it’s a little unfortunate that they don’t get to know her actually birth weight. Crazy again, right?!?

A few of the details:

And one last picture of sweet little Indie
)

There will be many more shots of this beautiful little blondie coming soon as I did her newborn pictures a few days later, but I have three session to get up between now and then! (tammy, kristi, and abigail…they’re coming!!!) so keep checking back, I should be plenty busy for you this week
